My name is Iris, designer and creator of jewels for the label Diamonds and Daughters. I'm specialized in contemporary wearables and accessories.
I love jewels and each piece I create is unique since they are all handmade. I am trained as a classical goldsmith (Schoonhoven), I have a BA in Jewelry Design from the Rietveld Academie (Art School) as well as a MA degree Free Desgin of the Sandberg Institute (masters) in Amsterdam, where I specialized in Free design.
Early in my career I started creating one of a kind jewelery, which is still my greatest passion. Recently I became involved in the world of product design. I have an enormous passion for rearranging, assembling, and adding, in order to come up with a new image. I’m intrigued by materials, patterns, surfaces, colors, images, antique jewelry, craft and traditions, relation to jewelry and the occasion of wearing them.
Theese concepts are starting point to create my prêt-à-porter wearable jewelry in order to celebrate daily life as well as the highlights; as courtship, engagement, wedding, birth, baptism etc.
My intention is that they become memories of nice and beautiful events and occasions. But above all, jewelry/accessories are meant to adorn yourself, to make you feel good and let you shine!
So a gift to yourself is just as important for you to enjoy and complete your style! I like to show to you my my various collections and inspiration walls in my studio. But above all it will be a treasure chest, as a display to present my jewelry to you!

MATERIALS& Collections
I work with various goldsmith techniques and a wide range of materials. I love to work with mother of pearl and Stingray leather. I'm intrigued with Ready made (also: objet trouvé) as starting points, I place them in a new context and form. In order to construct a divers' collection.
Also, Stones have a attraction on me, I like to start working with them as well and to connect them with their power.
This idea is under construction.
My jewelry exist in collections which is growing and I love to give them names.
I think my work belongs in the slow range, like good coffee or food.
Made with a lot of attention and a good eye for detail and beauty.
All jewelry I design & create in my studio in Rotterdam.
